Announcing Gust.com
He’s the founder of the New York Angels and a member of 5 angel groups.
He created Angelsoft, the back office system for angel groups and gave away the service for free. (Disclaimer: Angelsoft is a sponsor of this Show.)
Today David Rose joins me to unveil the re-branding of Angelsoft into Gust.
As in a gust of wind? Exactly.
But this is no modest re-branding, not simply a more terse url; this is a vision much larger in scope — a system that can link entrepreneurs, VCs, angels, as well as university business plan competitions, businesses, even Microsoft BizSpark.
Can any one platform accomplish as much as David envisions? Is this a case of megalomania? Or is this a shrewd strategy diligently developed over 7 years, now with the critical missing pieces put in place? A case could be made for both perspectives.
But can he monetize these larger ambitions? Will Gust fill his coffers like the name implies with sails?
Angelsoft has won the hard earned endorsements of Angel Capital Association, Canada’s NACO and EBAN, the European Business Angel Network; in April in Warsaw it won EBAN’s Annual Award for Best Tool for business angel groups.
So far he’s won over the angel market place, but will these new ambitions fall into place as straightforwardly?
If you know David, you know he thinks they will.
